"Camp Jabulani – the highlight of our trip. What a place and what service. The chef here was more than amazing, the food incredible, the height of luxury. He would come out before each meal and explain what he was cooking that day. Gorgeous setting and beautiful lodges".

"We were so warmly greeted on our arrival and found all the staff members extremely charming, approachable and highly professional.

Your brochures and website are beautiful but being there really gave me an understanding of not only the position of the property in terms of its spectacular scenery, but also how the immaculate the suites, lounge and dining areas relate to each other in space and decor and how that all comes together with such excellent service to create such a remarkable offering.

The food was simply outstanding and Camp Jabulani is above 5* in every way!

The elephant back safari under the stars was an experience we shall treasure forever and the visit to the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre certainly was the “cherry on the top”."

"Camp Jabulani on the Kapama Game Reserve near Kruger National Park in northeastern South Africa is a very special place. If there were a 6th star, Jabulani would earn that easily. We had a private guide during our entire stay. Never more than 2 others in our open 4x4 and sometimes just us. Our first sighting of a majestic giraffe slowly and gracefully crossing the road in front of us was one of the most moving moments. We took 3 fantastic elephant back rides - one at night when we heard lions roar in the distance of the starlight night with a gentle warm breeze and a spectacular Milky Way overhead! All this on top of an elephant! We went on a bush walk and took numerous early morning, daytime and night safari rides. We saw 4 of the "Big 5" in the wild : lion, rhino, buffalo and elephant. One of the lions (my favorite) was a spectacular full-grown black mane male - rare in South Africa.

A unique experience was to have a giraffe on one side of our open 4x4 carefully and intently watching a pride of lions on the other side of us.

We also got to visit the Hoespruit Endangered Species Project operated by the owner of Camp Jabulani and also on the Kapama Game Reserve, where we got to play with a baby rhino and a cheetah!
Jabulani has a first class chef and all meals were beyond great.
Our private bungalow deep in the bush was absolutely beautiful with its nice deck and plunge pool - complete with monkey visitors! We are definitely returning to Jabulani!"

Adult bull elephants go through musth, a specific reproductive condition, about once a year, and this state may last for only a few days, or for three months or longer. The musth glands, or temporal glands, swell and secrete a liquid: this can often be seen as a thick secretion running down the side of the elephants face.
